Yoga For Self-Love

My study of yoga started in my mother’s yoga classes. Her passion for yoga, and how she continues to change the lives of her students, inspired me to start my own yoga practice.

From Hot Yoga and Vinyasa Flow to Kundalini and Aerial Yoga, I explored a range of classes and eventually ended up at YogaWorks in Santa Monica, where I received my first training in 2014. Since then my classes have evolved and transformed, as I have continued to be a student and received more training. One thing that has remained the same is how yoga allows me to find peace with my body.

As a Fitness Instructor I have not found any form of movement more effective for self-love than yoga. Unlike other kinds of practices, yoga implores students to go deeper into their self-awareness and come out with a renewed sense of connection.

My goal as a Yoga Teacher is to facilitate the connection between the mind, body, and soul.

The physical movements are important, as is the correct alignment, strength-building, and increase of flexibility. I do encourage my students to push themselves to their physical limits while cultivating acceptance and trust with their body. However, what I find to be most transformative about this practice is what we are able to release when we gain physical awareness. The body holds so much more tension than we realize, and when paired with the breath, movement allows us to bring awareness to that tension and eventually let it go. This can mean a release of stress in the shoulders, extra body fat, pent up emotion… the list goes on.

Yoga is an incredible tool you can use for anything you are looking to transform, whether it is your body, your mind, or both.

I offer a private practice based in New York City that includes individual sessions, group sessions, and workshops. I also offer virtual classes that can be done in the comfort of your home, or anywhere in the world!
